What is Integrative Psychiatry?

Integrative Psychiatry is a practice that combines functional medicine with conventional psychiatry to identify the root cause of your condition.  The human body is a complex ecosystem that can often become unbalanced by nutritional deficiencies, stress and environmental factors. This unbalance can lead to numerous conditions and symptoms that often fall under the umbrella of psychiatry.

The Process:

Initial Evaluation: We will start with an in-depth assessment of your history and condition.  From childhood to present day we work to gain an understanding of your unique experience and identify factors that may have been overlooked.

Advanced Laboratory Assessment: A vital tool used to understand your unique biochemistry is the use of common and specialty lab work.   This is a critical step in identifying underlying nutritional deficiencies, metabolic problems and medical conditions that can lead to a plethora of symptoms.

*Tests vary in cost with fees being paid directly to the lab.  Insurance often covers conventional tests where specialized testing will be at the expense of the patient.  Dr. Patrick will discuss any lab work with you and does her best to keep costs to a minimum.

Treatment Plan: Drawing on the information gained from the initial evaluation, advanced labs, and your preferences, Dr. Patrick will develop an integrative treatment plan that may include dietary and lifestyle changes, nutritional supplements, medications and supportive therapies.

Ongoing Care and Support: With focus initially being on resolution of current symptoms, long-term improvement and well-being is the ultimate goal of treatment.  With follow ups every 4-8 weeks to fine tune treatments and optimize your progress
