Denise Stadter, LMHC, IMH-E, is now accepting clients, age 12 and up, for telehealth services. Denise believes that the key to healing starts with healthy relationships, whether that is the relationship we have with ourselves or the relationships we hold with others. The things we have experienced in life, pleasant or otherwise, impact the way we interact with the world around us. Denise takes a trauma-informed, person-centered approach with clients and meets clients with compassion, empathy, and curiosity to support their goals. Denise is passionate about helping people create healthy, supportive relationships that truly make a difference in their lives.

Denise received a bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology with an emphasis in social welfare from Augustana College in Rock Island, IL. Denise then attended Olivet Nazarene University where she received her master’s degree in Professional and School Counseling. Denise is currently a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor in the state of Iowa. Denise also holds an endorsement as an Infant Mental Health Specialist and Endorsed Reflective Supervisor.

Denise specializes in trauma, attachment, parenting, and infant and early childhood mental health. Denise is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), and Circle of Security Parenting group. Denise’s goal as a therapist is to assist individuals on their journey to healing by providing a supportive therapeutic relationship and a path to make lasting changes to improve their quality of life. Denise works alongside clients in implementing positive changes in their life by providing a space to heal, grow, and connect.

In her free time, Denise enjoys spending time with her family, hanging out with her fur babies, reading, and working on various craft projects.
